Interesting thoughts. I’ve never put any time into thinking about it, but after reading this I realize I could tell the exact same story.
Bev loves her some UT2K4. Gets really jazzed up about it, and really /wants/ to play.

Like you, I don’t ever really remember feeling that. I remember wanting to overcome the challenge, to “beat” it. It was always about that though, never about the actual excitement of the game itself. More… the “result” of the game. More like a mountain to climb than a playground to play on I think.

I wonder if we’re dealing with two fundamentally different approaches here. Two different types of minds even. Very interesting topic, will have to think on it!

Ha – I’m getting a kick out of the chicks who decided to join in, yet are stumbling over the dance moves *are you serious? it like 5 steps over and over again. I’m also appalled by anyone who would refer to this as techno (and there are those out there who would say it *slap before they finish the word*)

I slept in the STL airport once. It was horrible… After wandering around for hours, I finally found some slightly comfy place… And this was in the 90s, pre wifi and cell phone games.

karma’s been pretty good of late, so I think it was just a matter of the gods reminding me to “be mindful” of the fact that I’ve been doing well, and things around me have been as well. A small reminder that I shouldnt be complacent

Unfortunately, gods, being gods, they dont understand subtlety, email, or a tap on the shoulder. They stick to the old ways, and drop a deer in front of you. Set and artemis need to update to the 21st century. While I appreciate sacrifice, and the need to show respect. a squirrel or smaller mammal would have sufficed. Why does it always have to be a deer?
