So much to say, so little time to say it.
Sunday, August 15th, 2010I have a million things I should probably write about. However things are crazy as always, so I dont always get the chance to organize them into a post. Shit, I still need to finish my post about Pookie coming to visit, what almost 6 months ago? Jebus. At the same time, things are crazy as always at CENSORED. I’m now getting home well close to midnight, which means I usually go straight to bed. Some mornings, I have time to do things, others, I dont. It depends on what day of the week it is. Most directly, its really affecting my Tiki Bar schedule. Combine into that the fact that it looks like I may have a little bit of travel coming up, Portland is finally getting some hot summer days, and oh yes, I’m for some insane reason looking into buying a house, and well, there’s just not enough hours in the day.
But I did have time to fuck with the theme of my blog… Go figure. I was initially happy with the previous theme, and I liked all it could do. And then I got tired of it again, like I always do. Its a perpetual cycle. So I found this one, and customized it a bit. The Missus™ likes this pic, and its very me, so I chose it for the background. Now, if you’re not reading this directly on MGL, but through ButtBook, or AssJournal, you may want to head to the source, in order to see what I’m talking about.
And on an unrelated note, I would like to say for the record that I am going to miss Benny, Zach, and Adrian on a daily basis. Friends like them are a rare gift. Brent Albrecht too. And his mom. (YEYAH!)
Good Morning.
Tuesday, December 29th, 2009So, I’m not going to bring things up to speed. I’m just going to recap slightly. After work last night, I hauled it up to Target, and dropped $60 on a humidifier. I’m tired of the winter air killing my sinuses. After setting it up and getting the world cleaned up a bit, I went to bed. It would seem that I slept pretty soundly last night, as M messaged me 3 times this morning, and I slept through them all. I didnt wake up until she rang the doorbell. So I’d call the humidifier a total win. I then got the chance to spend some morning time with my laydee. I say this because she’s given me permission to speak about her in the digital space. Since she’s no longer a banned subject, yes, I spent the morning with my girl. And of course, just as she’s heading for the bath, the doorbell rings a bunch. Its the UPS guy. I’d recognize how he rings the bell any day. I run to the door, and he’s gone, but as always, he’s left my package. The dude rocks.
I bring the box inside, and I open it up. What’s inside? A present from my five year old niece, my step-sister, and my brother in law. what did I get?
Yes, you see it correctly. I got FLR’s Falling water, in LEGO! I have the best niece (and her parents) ever.
Between my girlfriend, and one awesome christmas present, I cant lose this morning!
Tweaking and testing.
Tuesday, November 10th, 2009So it seems I’ve spent some time tweaking and testing MGL again. Every six months or so, I start to get tired of the way the site looks, and I’ll revamp it, and try and get it to look somewhat more like I envision it. Of course, that changes every six months as well. At the moment, I think I’ve found a good balance of clean lines, decent layout, and general overall features. Of course, I havent come across a decent widget that will pull my RSS feeds out of Google Reader and list them in the sidebar, but I think thats a limitation of Google Reader. Ah, how I miss you NewsGator. You were so much better than google reader. Yes, I admit it. Google make a product, a free one, that I happen to despise. However, its the only way to decently aggregate my news feeds across multiple devices. And yes, I know I’m bitching about something thats free. Too bad.
So yes, other than that, MGL is just about the way I want it for now. Yay.
In other news, Chris and I have been delving deep into the lore of our childhood. Most recently, Original episodes of Scooby Doo. Yes, the 1960′s and 1970′s Scooby. Not this new crap. I’d forgotten how good it was. At the same time, I’ve been scratching the itch to get back into The Venture Brothers, which is turning out pretty good. I’m enjoying that series too. Whats next? Who knows.
And with that, its high time I headed for bed. Must be at work on time tomorrow. Yay.
keeping up with the updatings that I update, when I remember to update, cause I’m updating.OKAY
Friday, September 12th, 2008Okay, so WP had an upgrade, and MGL notified me that it was time to upgrade. Of course, I logged in and realized that I havent posted in a while. Jet has posted recently, but of course, I’ve been lax. I know. I suck. So, here goes.
Of recent I’ve been busy at (censored!) but thats to be expected. Add in the whole reorganization of home what with Crash departing, me keeping the place, and Chris, The Man Wonder™ moving out in the fall, and it adds up to hectic. Of course, in the middle of all this, I do my best to make time for Jet, as she does for me, and oh, did I mention that the parents will be here this weekend? Hot damn, its busy. I think we’ve established that
In other news, its looking like an iPhone weekend for me. Queen Bee and I have been debating cell phones for a while now. iPhone is the clear winner in cell land, and I’ve never liked Verizon (Bluetooth crippling bastards). So yes, on sunday or monday, Alpha Unit Female and I will make the cell phone stuff happen, I’ll give her the iphone training to get her rolling, and she’ll be all good. I’ll be all good for that matter too. No more crappy Razr. It was THE phone when it came out, but Motorola cant hold a candle to what the iphone can do. Seriously.
Moving right along, its a tiki bar friday. I picked Jet up from work early, and she promptly crashed on my bed. I’m taking the moment to run software updates, talk to Chris about the move, and update websites.
And on that note, I think I might go and curl up with Jet Girl. She looks damned cute, asleep in my bed.
A New Duck
Monday, August 11th, 2008I was looking at the previous theme for MGL, called Laccetti, and was feeling tired of it. When I first chose it, it was what I was looking for, with all the integration and awesome. After a while though, it started to look a little cliche. I wanted something clean, new, different. So after a little theme hunting, and some some CSS editing, MGL now has a new and cleaner look. I’m pleased so far, but I have a feeling there will be lots of tweaking.
For those of you that read this on LJ, consider clicking over to MGL at some point, so you can have a look. wooo!
Testing wordpress on the ipod touch.
Monday, July 21st, 2008I’ve been a fan of WordPress for a long time. It really is my favourite blogging environment. And I have to say that I love the iPod touch. It’s abilities coupled with the wealth of software for it make it one if my favourite pieces of technology. The only downside is that safari mobile had issues with wp. As in, I could log in, but I couldn’t post. Weak! But, it seems to no longer be an issue.
There’s now a wordpress app for the iPhone/touch! It allows you to set it up to post to multiple blogs, lets you tag everything correctly, and so on. Pure win!
Having just installed it, this is my test post.
My thanks to the awesome folks who wrote this app, and then made it free. You rule!
